A new test to diagnose PROM
AMNIOQUICK® DUO+ is a simple and rapid test that allows in vitro detection of IGFBP-1 (Insulin-likeGrowth Factor-Binding Protein 1) and AFP (Alpha-Feto Protein) from a vaginal swab sample. Specification:
AMNIOQUICK® DUO+ is a simple and rapid test that allows in vitro detection of IGFBP-1 (Insulin-likeGrowth Factor-Binding Protein 1) and AFP (Alpha-FetoProtein) from a vaginal swab sample. AMNIOQUICK® DUO+ Test is intended to detect rupture of fetal membranes in pregnant woman from a vaginal swab sample.
The Premature Rupture of Membranes or PROM is relatively frequent and concerns 5 to 10 % of pregnancy cases. It might lead to preterm delivery and fetal infection. The leakage of amniotic liquid is not always detectable by conventional clinical examination and therefore confirmatory biological test is sometimes useful. Biological tests are based on vaginal detection of alkalinization (easy to proceed, sensitive, inexpensive but poorly specific) or presence of a molecule which is physiologically present in high concentration in amniotic fluid (diamine oxidase, alpha-fetoprotein, fibronectin, IGFBP-1).

- Test strips individually pouched with a desiccant
- vaginal swabs flocked with Sterile Nylon®
- vials/tubes with a unit dose of Diluent
- Workstation (or rack tube)
- Patient cards
- Instruction for use
Procedures:
1) Bring the complete kit and samples to be tested to room temperature prior to testing.
2) Once the strip pouch is opened, it must be used within one hour.
3) Open the vial with Diluent and lay it vertically on a flat surface.
4) Dip the swab into the vial with Diluent and rotate for 10 seconds. Then discard the swab or break off the swab tip into the vial.
5) Dip the strip into the vial with arrows pointing downwards. Gently hit the dipstick on the bottom of the tube to enhance absorption. Keep the strip in the tube in vertical position for 10 minutes.
6) Remove the strip from the tube and lay the strip on shaded zone of the patient card along with the band models and read the result immediately..
Important : Do not interpret any Test band appearing 15 minutes after the strip is dipped in the vial.
7) After the reading, eliminate tube and AMNIOQUICK® DUO+ strip and vial according to local regulations for potentially infectious waste.
